About

Hi! I’m Katherine –

What areas of your life does diabetes affect in terms of having to take a different approach than someone without diabetes? Every part. That’s why we are here. To continually learn to live our lives to the fullest in terms of diabetes management. I hope this blog can provide:

  1. Relatable information as we experience the daily challenges of living with diabetes
  2. Knowledge to empower us to lead healthy lives and take control of our diabetes
  3. A reminder that our lives have purpose and we are still fearfully and wonderfully made even with a chronic condition.

You know that excited feeling when you see someone else with an insulin pump or checking their blood sugar or the sense of camaraderie felt when you can talk to another person with diabetes that has experienced a low and they just “get it.” Representation and community are so important and I hope you can find that in these blog posts.

Diabetes Bio: I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 4 years old. I have been on insulin pump since I was 10 years old. I’ve used a Medtronic pump, the Omnipod Dash, and Omnipod 5 in the past, but currently using the Tandem Mobi along with the Dexcom G6 CGM (continuous glucose monitor) for my daily diabetes management. I’ve also been through pregnancy and postpartum with diabetes. Read those blog posts to find out more!
